How Coronavirus Has Changed Our Outlook On Our Health

In the last few months — our health, and the health of those around us has suddenly become more important than it ever was before. We might have always thought our health was important. However, how often did you think about the health of your neighbor? What about the health of the person standing in front of you at the grocery store? Or, what about the health of your child’s teacher, the police officer driving down your street, the UPS driver?

Likely — you would never wish poor health on anyone, but you also probably were not very aware specifically of their health. You would never hope someone is ill — but it also was not very likely that you would get ill, just because you were within six feet of someone that may be ill.

In the blink of an eye, we all became hyperaware of our health, our wellness and our attitude towards others. We became a society of smiles out of pity — because we felt that others were going through the same thing we were, or maybe they had it worse. We became a society of being afraid to get too close with someone we barely knew, and a society that kept our distance from our own loved ones in fear that we might spread the illness that we got from taking a package off our front doorstep to them — even if we may not have any symptoms.
