Why You Should Be Eating Seasonally…

We are all impacted by the seasons on some level — whether we are warm weather, sun craving individuals, or we thrive during pumpkin spiced everything season, there are those who are the snow bunnies, and those who’s souls are set on fire with the first blooms of spring. Whatever category you fall into — you are on some level impacted by the ever-changing seasons.

Maybe the seasons impact your mood, your feelings and thoughts, but they also impact your body, internally. All of the metabolic processes our body has on a daily basis change as the weather and seasons change. We are typically great at changing our lives for the changing seasons, on a surface level — with our clothes, home decor and attitudes. However, typically we’re not the best at adjusting our lives for the internal impacts we are getting on a daily basis with the changing seasons.

Your diet, exercise and day-to-day activities should all change with the changing seasons. One big thing that changes with the seasons is your circadian rhythm — or your sleep cycles. As summer approaches and we have longer days, this should shift your sleep schedule and routine. Your mood will change with the seasons as well, typically due to the day length changing. Your metabolism changes with the seasons. Theres are just a FEW of the many changes we see on our bodies as the seasons change. The foods we eat are, in my opinion, one of the most important things that impact our bodies. Both during seasonal differences and on a daily basis. The food you are putting into your body…
